He keeps his dark brown hair fairly short, just a few inches so it’s short enough to fight with gel to stand up straight, but not long enough to get into his hazel eyes. An honest smile with even teeth completes the picture. PBJosh Duhamel Personality When it comes to his job, Bastian buckles down and gets to work. He takes control over his kitchen and nothing leaves unless it meets his exact standards. Outside the job, he’s an easy-going guy who loves to goof off with friends, meet new people and generally hang out. He’s helpful, considerate and a general gentleman. His personal life is his own, but he’s willing to share to interested people. Bastian doesn’t make judgments and is accepting of everyone. Background Bastian never met his birth parents. He was raised by his grandfather in the Shoshone tribe in Southern Montana. From them, he learned about the animal spirits that protect and honed his ability to focus and shift into various animals. First he gained the wolf then the coyote, bobcat and cougar, the four major spirits of the tribe. He started a necklace of teeth and claws and began wearing it under his clothing. As he gained skills and familiars, he added it to his necklace. His grandfather made sure he attended school during the day and in the afternoons taught him the legends of the tribe, how to heal and other secrets of the shaman. When he turned eighteen, Bastian got the wanderlust, the desire to travel and learn, so he moved to the east coast, enrolling in the New England Culinary Institute for something different. He was exceptionally good, and graduated ahead of schedule, working in restaurants around Boston. He moved up in the work force quickly, but work became routine so he started scouting around for new locations where he could add his own flair and flavor to dishes, which is how he found the Tiberius J. Swann Institute. Abilities Can cast minor spells for protection, healing or general fun spells. Major ability is shifting into various animals so long has he owns a piece of the animal (aka a familiar). It can be fur, paw, or typically teeth. Double the life expectancy of a normal human. Weaknesses Without his familiar, he cannot shift. If Bastian is an animal and loses the familiar, he’s stuck in that form until he gets it back. Is susceptible to normal injuries and illness, but can heal faster with aid of spells.
